Regensburg Dompatzen: The Report and the "Coincidental" Names of Ratzinger and Müller

(Regensburg) "What a coincidence," wrote Vaticanist Marco Tossatti regarding the investigation of abuses in the Regensburg Domspatzen, after his acquaintance with the final report. He did not believe in "coincidences," said Tosatti, if they were to happen in "a country so precise and above every suspicion as Germany." This thought came to the attention of the Vatican, when he had to read yesterday that the "final" report on abuse was published at the Regensburg Cathedral.

The ORF and numerous other media yesterday headlined, "547 Children at Regensburger Domspatzen Abused." The verb "abused" makes you cringe and think of sexual abuse of minors. A rogue might think, with the ORF one would not have exactly intended that. A glance at the article shows that almost 90 per cent of the cases were physical chastisement, which was one of the most common methods of education in the period under investigation since the end of the war. The example demonstrates the enjoyment with which the "quality media" are currently, vehemently presenting themselves as the defenders of journalism against the spread of "fake news," in the event of resentment, in this case against the Church. The same year, the same ORF had used the verb "abuse" in connection with the Regensburger Domspatzen, as Der Spiegel did yesterday. In this case the "crux" is, as is often the case, in the large press agencies. They specify line and words that are taken over by the other media. Suspiciously, Tosatti, who does not mention the ORF report, is interested in the fact that the latter, in order to remain an example, comes from the "religion" section. At the latest, we can see that the issue is also about Church policy.

The "final" report presented on Monday speaks of 547 cases in the period of half a century, of which "thankfully, or thank God," only "concern 67 sexual abuse cases," says Tosatti. The rest are from educational methods, which at the time had been disapproved of by at best only a few parents.

More serious is sexual abuse. "The German Church did well to work it out with an investigation by a person responsible to someone external to the institution." 48 Victims were found. The two chief perpetrators have been dead for about 30 years, which is why prosecution is impossible. It would no longer be possible due to statute of limitations anyway. The victims will receive compensation of 20,000 euros each.

Case Ratzinger

"At this point, coincidences begin," says Tosatti. As "fate" would have it, Georg Ratzinger, the older brother of Joseph Ratzinger, had been the musical director of the Regensburg Dompatzen for 30 years appeared in the final report. Seven years ago he said in an interview that he had also handed out a few Ohrfeigen [boxing the ears] for his first few years in his role at that time. Those who were young at that time know from their own experience or at least the observation that head smacking [Kopfüsse] and Ohrfeigen were not a rarity in the fifties and early sixties. "If I had known something about the abuse, I would have done something," Georg Ratzinger said at the time. And also "I apologize to the victims." He also did it because of the pain that the good reputation of "his" Dompatzen was defiled by the deeds of others.

At the press conference on the presentation of the final report, however, the lawyer, Weber weighed in heavily. He gave Georg Ratzinger the responsibility of "closing his eyes" and not doing anything. Is Georg Ratzinger, who is not accused in the report of being himself involved in ill-treatment or even abuse, only a substitute accused because the real perpetrators are long dead? Or is he given the responsibility because he is called Ratzinger, and because his more famous brother was the head of the Catholic Church, and is still somehow so for a few Catholics? Was the side swipe only for media attention, which was promptly granted, or once again broke into that deep German anti-Ratzinger reflex?

Tosatti does not believe in any "coincidence" because of its timed occurrence with Benedict XVI's message for the funeral of Cardinal Joachim Meisner. This message was read as a criticism of the state of the Church and of the shepherds who did not fight against the dictatorship of the Zeitgeist under which the German church groans.

Case Müller

"Then there is Cardinal Gerhard Müller," said Tosatti, who is also mentioned in the final report. Before his appointment as Prefect of the Congregation for Doctrine and the Faith, Müller was the Bishop of Regensburg. The report criticizes how he had handled the "case" of the Regensburg Dompatzen. Above all, he is accused of a lack of dialogue with the alleged victims. To this Tosatti wrote:

"Poor Müller! It was not enough to step through the pope, and after the first stomach pain (see the interview with the Passau Neue Presse ), he had to pretend that nothing had happened, and that the Pope wanted him nothing but good. Now this sympathetic trifle came through his native Germany, where, as is well known, he is very popular among his countrymen."

The loser is the one who's mocked, says a German proverb. In the case of Cardinal Müller, it is evident that there is no lack of countrymen within and out of the Church, who are eager to show their disapproval. And whenever someone is down, it is particularly easy. In some cases, some seem to be interested in the fact that the Cardinal will never get up again. Yet he will not give them such satisfaction, which he will do even if he is weakened in his power.

At the same time as the presentation of the final report, the appointment of the new secretary of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith was announced in Rome . To this Tosatti wrote:

"The one who was appointed was not, as expected, the Assistant Secretary, Archbishop Agostino DiNoia, but the under-secretary, Monsignor Giacomo Morandi, the man who was placed in the Ratzinger and Muller Congregation a year and a half ago. A pretty quick career. He is really born under a lucky star, like that of Beniamino, the Prefect of the Clerical Congregation and the great director of the pope's court. All just coincidences."

What's Going on in Bergoglio's Pontifical Academy for Life Anyway?

Edit: Randy Engel sent this to our e-mail. Hope we can help expose this manifest evil.

Dear Friends – Is there no end to the anti-life scandals at Pontifical Academy for Life?  Or is it Death?

Karolinska Institute is NOT a “Medical University.” It’s a Big Auschwitz  for unborn children.

In the selection of its members, the Vatican must also consider the institution that the member represents. In the case of Katarina Le Blanc that institution is the Karolinska Institute – one of the world’s foremost promoters of abortion and abortifacients. The Institute also is involved in non-therapeutic fetal experimentation and the provision of fetal tissues from aborted babies.  Its eugenic mind-set is illustrated by its pioneer promotion of human embryo preimplantation diagnosis and in-vitro Fertilization.

Either remove Le Blanc and all the other anti-life characters which infest the “academy” or just shut the growing hell-hole down! Enough is enough!

Randy Engel, U.S. Coalition for Life

Pontifical Academy for Scandals - One Scandal More :Source: La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana

The Nuova Bussola Quotidiana writes, that Katarina Le Blanc from the Swedish Karolinska Institutet, who was named on June 13th as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, works with human stem cells derived from aborted children.

In 2013 she published with other authors an article in PLOS ONE on stem cell research based on cells harvested from killed human embryos. The Pontifical Academy for Life declared in 2000, that such research is immoral.

In July 2016 Le Blanc published in Scientific Reports with others a study based on cells taken from the lungs of aborted children, purchased from the abortion-network Planned Parenthood at the price of 45 Dollars a baby.

"Now There is Even a Pseudo-Ratzinger" -- Sharp Attaks by Ultrabergoglians Against Benedict XVI after Meisner-Requiem

(Rome) Last Saturday the requiem and the funeral of Joachim Cardinal Meisner took place in Cologne. The emeritus Archbishop of Cologne had passed away last July 5th in his 84th year. Benedict XVI Gave greetings to the ceremony, which was read by his personal secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, in Cologne Cathedral. The former Pope's message triggered violent reactions among the Ultrabergoglians.

Cardinal Meisner, who had to witness expulsion from his East German home Silesia as a child, and afterwards more than 40 years of communist dictatorship in Central Germany, is one of the four signatories of Dubia (Doubts) on the controversial post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia by Pope Francis. The four cardinals who addressed five questions to Francis in September 2016 have been regarded as the principal enemy of the papal court and convinced Bergoglians. Undaunted, Cardinal Meisner held fast to the questions which are a critique of the latest developments in the Church. He was "returned home" (Benedict XVI) without receiving from the ruling Pope his answers, and without being received by him in audience, which he had requested along with the other signatories in April.

Convicted shepherds were sought, "who resist the dictatorship of the temporal spirit"

Benedict XVI's greetings were, therefore, particularly badly received in the Pope's circle. The Pope, who had resigned in a surprise in 2013, said in Cologne that the Church "urgently, especially needs  convincted shepherds, who resist the dictatorship of the Zeitgeist, and live and think decisively from the faith."

Benedict XVI did not answer directly to the conflict of the deceased Cardinal with Pope Francis' agenda and the Dubia to Amoris laetitia. Nevertheless, he made every effort to make it clear that he saw Cardinal Meisner as such a "convicted shepherd" who resisted "the dictatorship of the Zeitgeist."

This unmistakable distinction for the man, who, together with three other cardinals, challenged the ruling pope, drove some Bergoglians to be red in the face with anger. This also applies to a further passage in the greeting of Benedict XVI, where he compares the current state of the Church with a boat "almost filled to capsizing". This image was also used in the Missa Pro Eligendo Pontifice of 2005, which preceded the Conclave, where he was elected Pope. Once again, he spoke in 2012 when he blessed the participants in the pilgrimage of the Catholic Action of Italy, who had come to Rome in the year of their faith.

Ultrabergoglians demanded Benedict XVI's silence

Melloni against Benedict XVI.

The reactions could not fail, as some Ultrabergoglians have already bitterly complained to public statements from Benedict XVI in recent months. In connection with a greeting to Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments, which was added as an epilogue to his latest book, "Power of Silence", led the rabid frothing of leading progressive representatives, who have been particularly zealous since the election of Francis as pope. Alberto Melloni, the director of the Bologna Progressive School, and Andrea Grillo, influential liturgist in the era of Francis, clearly demanded that Benedict XVI. be silent.

This, however, can not be forbidden, and he gave a greeting to his secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, which he read in Cologne.

Alberto Melloni, head of the School of Bologna, whose main work, the multi-volume history of the Second Vatican Council, was translated into German at the expense of the German Bishops' Conference, made a poll on Twitter. Melloni doubted polemically that the words came from Benedict XVI. He wrote the disparaging tweet,

"There is a Proto-Ratzinger, a Deutero-Ratzinger and now also a pseudo-Ratzinger with negative allusions to the ruling pope."
Melloni's like-minded historian colleague Massimo Faggioli seconded:

"It would be nice to know who wrote the message of Joseph Ratzinger for the funeral of Cardinal Meisner."

Both regard Benedict XVI's words as a criticism of Pope Francis.

The ghostwriters of Francis and the memory gaps of the pope

It is widely known that Benedict XVI personally, as Pope, wrote by hand all the texts which were important to him. Nothing could have changed in this practice of the frequent author. Francis, who has never written a book, knows, however, that he is using documents with the help of ghostwriters. Have the two Bergoglians, Melloni and Faggioli, perhaps, confused Benedict XVI. with Francis?

Their polemic is aimed at Benedict XVI, who has already resigned from the papacy. It may, therefore, be doubted that the two Bergoglians, with their pages, were alluding to Pope Francis. However, on 16 April 2016, on the return flight from Lesbos, a few days after the publication of Amoris laetitia, he had to admit to the question of the journalist Jean-Marie Guénois of Le Figaro that he could not remember exactly what he had put down in the recently published Apostolic Letters.

On the same occasion, instead of responding to the question of Francis Rocca from the Wall Street Journal, Francis referred to his colleagues: "I recommend you to read the presentation given by Cardinal Schönborn, who is a great theologian. He is a member of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and is well acquainted with the teachings of the Church. In that presentation your question will be answered. Thank you."

Scholas Occurrentes: Pope's Video Message for a "Culture of Encounter" Without Christ

(Rome) In Jerusalem, a multi-day congress was held at the Hebrew University of the Pontifical Schola Occurrentes Foundation. Pope Francis transmitted a video message to yesterday's meeting. The Pope turned to the international audience in Spanish. As in the past, the Embassy lacked any relation to religion. The words "God", "Jesus", "Christ" or "Lord" did not pass the lips of the Pope. He called for a global world of unity in diversity and a "culture of encounter".

Scholas Occurrentes is a project in cooperation with state and private schools founded by Jorge Mario Bergoglio when he was still Archbishop of Buenos Aires. After his election to the Pope he gave the project the legal form of a papal foundation and settled it in the Vatican. In the meantime, more than 400,000 schools in over 80 countries are involved worldwide, according to the Foundation.

The project wants to educate "peace", "dialogue" and "encounter".

Scholas Occurrentes is regarded as a favorite project by Pope Francis, which has been criticized several times in the past. It was known that the pope's name was used for gambling, and that the foundation, on papal instructions, refused a substantial donation by the incumbent Argentine president, apparently because he belonged to the "false party", and finally that the foundation supports gender ideology with its publications in Spanish speaking areas. All in all, doubts about the "pedagogical revolution" that Francis was pursuing with the Foundation were voiced.

"Civil Society" instead of Christianity?

The project is therefore very popular with ministries of education, school authorities and administrators because the religious aspect is completely thrown out. Neither God nor Christianity play a role. They are not even mentioned. The project focuses on "civil society" education on "peace, peaceful coexistence , dialogue and encounter."

In his numerous speeches and messages, which Pope Francis addressed to Schola's Occurentes in the past four years, Christ and the Christian faith never appeared. In his videotape, Francis spoke of "variety" and "diversity" that "breathe all the same air" and "inhabit the same earth", which is "the common house." Everyone has "their history", but "all live together". This is also the model given by Jerusalem. It is about "openness", as the Church chief emphasized several times, and is therefore "without prejudice."

According to the Pope, the goal of Scholas Occurrentes is to create a "culture of encounter". The Pope said "no to unity," but yes to "commonality in cultural diversity".

Pope's Favorite Newspaper Opens the Hunt Against New CDF

"La Repubblica" and the Politics of Scorched Earth
(Rome) Pope Francis appointed a New Faith Prefect last Saturday to get rid of the old one. Because of these "necessities", the number two of the Roman Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is now number one. On Monday, the only daily newspaper that the pope regularly reads, already opened its hunt for the new CDF Prefect.

La Repubblica disapproves of the nomination of Ladarias as a Prefect of Doctrine and the Faith

In his home country of Spain, Luis Ladaria SJ enjoys the good reputation of orthodoxy. Apart from the unusual circumstances of his appointment, the latter was largely positive. The pope's decision obviously followed tactical considerations, in order for the dismissal of Cardinal Miiller not to result in a revolt. Francis did not impress La Repubblica , the flagship of Italian left-wing journalism. The only newspaper he reads every day, according to his own statements, contained a "message" to the head of the Church on Monday: a disapproval of the appointment of Ladarias.
For La Repubblica, the new Prefect is "too conservative" in any case. There is also a fundamental aversion to the institution which was the former Holy Inquisition. La repubblica, of course, does not write this.  It attacks with the dirt bucket and goes to the "tried and tested" way of denunciation. "Pedophilia: a shadow on Bishop Ladaria," is the headline, and the same on the title page. To this end, the archive photo of a rally in front of St Peter's was reprinted against sexual abuse by clerics. The is a banner with an inscription "Church without abuse." The actual article can be found on page 15. The title reads: "He did not expose the pedophile priest. The Shadow on the Chief of the Holy Office."

The case of ex-priest Gianni Trotta

One of the two authors is the expose journalist Emiliano Fittipaldi, who was brought to justice in connection with the Vatican's Vatileaks 2 scandal. He was accused of having published confidential documents from the Vatican in his book "Avarizia" (avarice), published in late 2015. As the court was not able to prove any criminal offense, he was released a year ago, while the Vatican employees who had supplied him and another journalist with the documents, the Spanish Prelate Lucio Angel Vallejo Balda, and the busybody PR wife, Francesca Chaouqui.

La Repubblica has blown the Tally-ho against the new Prefect

The Catalan daily newspaper La Vanguardia took up the Repubblica article and titled it: "New crisis in the Vatican: Ladaria, recent appointment of the Pope, covered a case of pederasty. Shadow over the new Prefect of the Congregation of the Faith." This is about the case of an Italian priest named Gianni Trotta, who was removed in 2012 by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith from the clerical state. Trotta then became a soccer coach and abused minor children. In spring 2015 he was arrested and sentenced to eight years imprisonment by an Italian criminal court. The case had been reported in great detail by Repubblica and L'Espresso, the weekly magazine, last February.
The Congregation conducted the trial of the 49-year-old Trotta in 2009, which ended with the maximum sentence, the laicizationRepubblica criticizes the fact that Trotta was condemned by the Vatican but that the judgment was not publicly disclosed. In this way the people had not been warned in some small places in Puglia. In addition, Trotta, who was active as a coach of children's teams, continued to work as a priest, to gain people's confidence.
The crime of abuse relevant to criminal law were all committed after he had been laicized. This applies to the abuse of an eleven-year-old boy, for which he was sentenced to eight years in the first instance. This also applies to other cases of abuse involving the production and distribution of child pornography, for which he will soon be responsible. Repubblica criticizes the fact that they might have been prevented if the Vatican had made the case public. The daily newspaper even goes so far as to blame Ladaria for having "covered up" a case of pedophilia. The concept of cover-up is overshadowed here because Ladaria was not involved in the cover-up, but in the condemnation of Trotta.

Politics of the Scorched Earth at La Repubblica

The decree of laicization from 2012 was signed by Cardinal Levada. Then Cardinal Levada, and Ladaria, was then secretary of the Congregation. Repubblica , however, makes a cover-up of the conviction. According to Repubblica, the Congregation of the Faith would have had to publicly denounce Trotta. A doubtful demand to the Church, in which a maxim is to be hard against sin, but mild to the sinner. Repubblica's fretting, therefore, is probably more about something else.
The new Prefect,  Luis Ladaria Ferrer, is virtually unknown to the general public, including most Catholics. The Repubblica article guarantees that his name is immediately placed in a negative context. "The Prefect did not bring the pedophile ex-priest to the public,"... "cover-up of a pedophile scandal" are the headlines spread over media and social networks. It's an imagery that can hardly be bettered. What is the purpose of La Repubblica with the immediate tally-ho on the newly named Prefect?
When Pope Francis was elected, Eugenio Scalfari, the founder and father of La Repubblica, was his preferred partner. The result was several interviews and editorials of doubtful content. In the meantime, it has become quieter because the confessed atheist from a family with an old Masonic tradition, whom Pope Francis "does not want to convert", is already in his 94th year.
The fact is that this is the message that La Repubblica has noted with satisfaction the dismissal of Cardinal Müller and has declared the hunt for his successor.

Cardinal Müller: "I can not accept this style" -- Words About His Firing

Edit: sure flies in the face of John Allen's soft-soaping. Here's the interview from BR24, Passauer Neue Presse, which we thank for the clever German blog Nur Eine Kreuzmappe.
Gerhard Cardinal Ludwig Müller let fly a criticism of Pope Francis He told the "Passauer Neuen Presse" that Pope Francis had given him the decision not to prolong his term as Prefect of the Congregation of the Faith on the last day of his mandate "within a minute".

"I can not accept this style," said Müller. The social doctrines of the Church must also be valid for dealing with Roman Church employees. When asked about his current relationship with the Pope, Müller referred to the statements of Francis himself, who said that "the relationship was always very good." Müller could confirm, "This is still true today."

"Not to be hitched to the cart"

MORE ON THE SUBJECT

Articlereactions to Pope's decision, the uncomfortable Cardinal

The Pope had made this decision, which he was entitled to. "I will not answer with any actions." He did not want to be "hitched to the wagon of a movement critical of the pope," even though some think it. ""As Cardinal, I continue to be responsible for ensuring the unity of the Church and preventing polarization as far as possible."
Müller does not have a new specific task yet. To the Pope, he offered himself in the interview as an intermediary for a conversation with the three still living Cardinals cardinals, who had publicly expressed their doubts about Francis' teaching on marriage. The fourth signatory of a corresponding letter, Cardinal Joachim Meisner, had died in Bad Füssing on Wednesday. Müller said he could moderate such a conversation between the three Cardinals and the Pope "because I have the competence and the sense of responsibility for it."

Always loyal

The former prefect of faith, said that it would have been better if the letter of the Cardinals had not been publicly discussed with their doubts. He himself had "never struck one side or the other," but had always been loyal to the pope and wanted to remain so in the future. The interpretations of the papal letter, "Amoris Laetitia," presented by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn and by Cardinal Walter Kasper, were described by Müller as "not convincing". However, a large symposium of "real experts" could ensure that the balancing act between teaching and pastoral success is achieved.
Mueller said he had telephoned Cardinal Meisner on Tuesday evening, and shortly before his death. "He told me that he felt in good health, but he was very concerned about the situation in the Catholic Church," he said of Meisner. The fact that the Pope had not extended his term as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, had "personally moved and injured," Meisner.

Cardinal Müller Sabotages SSPX Reconciliation on His Way Out

Edit: the following is a complete translation of the letter from the Cardinal as confirmed by Rorate and the excerpt of which appeared at the Remnant.  One would almost think that he'd turned over a new leaf, but he was only likely biding his time to strike out before he left.  Here he is in this letter asking for what look more or less like the unsatisfactory conditions expected of the Society before a gaggle of Old Liberal Cardinals (Schönborn, Marx) along with Müller himself were assigned to the committee overseeing the negotiations.

Maybe Ecclesia Dei will throw this letter out and continue as they were before?  Here it is:

From www.medias-presse.info comes the following excerpt of a letter from Cardinal Müller to Bishop Bernard Fellay. According to www.medias-presse.info, Cardinal Müller's letter was communicated to all SSPX members by the SSPX General House.

Excerpt from Cardinal Müller's letter:

“As you know, Pope Francis has many a time manifested his benevolence towards your Priestly Society, granting, in particular, to all priest members the faculty of confessing the faithful validly and by authorizing local Ordinaries to grant licences for the celebration of the marriages of the faithful who follow the pastoral activity in your Society. Furthermore, discussions are continuing concerning questions relative to the full re-establishment of the communion of your Society with the Catholic Church.

In relation to this, with the approbation of the Sovereign Pontiff, I judged it necessary to submit to the Ordinary Session of our Congregation (which met on May 10 last) the text of the doctrinal Declaration which was transmitted to you during the meeting of June 13, 2016, as the necessary condition in view of the full re-establishment of communion. Here are the unanimous decisions of all the members of our Dicastery in this regard:

1) It is necessary to require the adhesion of the members of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X to the new formula of the Professio Fidei dating from 1988 (c.f. annexe). Consequently, it is not sufficient to ask them to express the Professio Fidei of 1962.

2) The new text of the doctrinal Declaration must contain a paragraph in which the signatories declare in an explicit manner their acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and those of the post-conciliar period, by granting to said doctrinal affirmations the degree of adhesion which is due to them.

3) The members of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X must recognize not only the validity, but also the legitimacy of the Rite of the Holy Mass and of the Sacraments, according to the liturgical books promulgated after the Second Vatican Council.”

www.medias-presse.info adds that Cardinal Müller concluded the letter saying that “during the Audience granted to the Cardinal Prefect on May 20 2017, the Sovereign Pontiff approved these decisions”. The French website also adds that in his accompanying letter to SSPX priests, Father Christian Thouvenot, Secretary General of the SSPX, recalled the words of Bishop Fellay after the meeting of the major superiors in Anzère, Switzerland, on June 28 2016:

“The Society of Saint Pius X does not seek primarily a canonical recognition, to which it has a right because it is Catholic. The solution is not simply juridical. It pertains to a doctrinal position which it is imperative to manifest [...] Divine Providence will not abandon Its Church whose head is the Pope, Vicar of Jesus Christ. That is why an incontestable sign of this restoration will reside in the signified will of the Sovereign Pontiff to grant the means for re-establishing the order of the Priesthood, the Faith and Tradition – a sign which will be, furthermore, the guarantor of the necessary unity of the family of Tradition”.

*** The Professio Fidei of 1988 refers to the Professio fidei et Iusiurandum fidelitatis in suscipiendo officio nomine Ecclesiae exercendo (Formula to be used for the profession of faith and for the oath of fidelity to assume an office to be exercised in the name of the Church) dated July 1, 1988 (coincidentally the day after the 1988 episcopal consecrations in Ecône) and published in the Acta Apostolica Sedis in 1989.

The Profession of Faith is as follows: I, N., with firm faith believe and profess each and everything that is contained in the Symbol of faith, namely:

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God,born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

With firm faith, I also believe everything contained in the word of God, whether written or handed down in Tradition, which the Church, either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium, sets forth to be believed as divinely revealed.

I also firmly accept and hold each and everything definitively proposed by the Church regarding teaching on faith and morals.

Moreover, I adhere with religious submission of will and intellect to the teachings which either the Roman Pontiff or the College of Bishops enunciate when they exercise their authentic Magisterium, even if they do not intend to proclaim these teachings by a definitive act.

Cardinal Müller Mostly Denies Conflict Between Himself and Pope

Edit: it's worth noting that the Pope had a personal grudge against the Cardinal's friend, one of the originators of Liberation Theology, the Peruvian Gutierrez.

Cardinal Müller explains to the "Allgemeine Zeitung" that the Pope told him that he wanted to limit the term of office to a five-year term, "and I was the first person to do it."

Mainz (kath.net) "There were no differences between me and Pope Francis." This was stated by Gerhard Ludwig Cardinal Müller in conversation with the "Allgemeine Zeitung". Rather, the five-year term as the prefect of the Congregation for the Congregation of the Congregation expired. It is customary that these office times should be extended, but Pope Francis decided otherwise. Müller, who is currently in Mainz, told the Allgemeine Zeitung that the Pope had informed him that he wanted to limit his term of office to a five-year term, "and I was the first person to do this." Müller said he did not expect this decision, however, according to the newspaper, he seemed "very relaxed".

The Pope had not given him any further justification, and even Müller was not aware of any reasons. Thus there was no quarrel over "Amoris laetitia," although the opinions were not identical in all respects. Müller only regretted, telling "Allgemeine Zeitung" that the Pope had dismissed three competent employees a few weeks ago.

The Leadership of the Maltese Order "Completely Unusually" Present Themselves Before the Pope in Civilian Clothes

The Grand Master Dala Tore
(Rome) Last Friday, 23 June, the new leadership of the Order of Malta was received by Pope Francis in audience. The delegation was led by the Grand Masterless Order of the Governor of the Grand Master, Giacomo Count Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, who was elected for a year on the last 29th of April.

Maltese Order before of the "bagarre"

Vatican Insider, the news platform directed by the pontifical House Vaticanist Andrea Tornielli, reported enthusiastically the same day about the reception. At the same time, the site emphasized the fact that the delegation had not appeared in the uniform of the knights but in civilian clothes before the pope.
The 1000 year old order has passed through some dramatic months. At the beginning of December 2016 there was an open conflict between the then acting Grandmaster Fra Mathew Festing and Grand Chancellor Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager. Festing dismissed Boeselager, who found support with the Vatican Secretariat of State and with Pope Francis. The Grand Master insisted on the sovereignty of the Order in an Order. Pope Francis saw it differently. When, at the end of January, he received the Grand Master in audience, he did so less to give Fra Festing the opportunity to present his position, but to give him an ultimatum. The Grand Master took the consequences and resigned.

Dramatic conflict just a "bagarre"?

At the same time, the Vatican Secretariat of State re-elected Boeselager as "Grand Chancellor" in the name of the Pope. Until the election of a new Grand Master, Fra Dalla Torre will be responsible for the duties of the management of the Order, as a state administrator. The actual decisions fall on the Boeselager - Secretary of State.

Maltese Order after the "bagarre"

The Pope's audience was traditionally held the day before the Feast of Saint John the Baptist, the patron of the Order. Topics were "the reform of the Order and humanitarian projects". Critics fear structural intervention in the religious order to cement a change in its course. At the core of the "reform," the assumption is that the first class should be subdued in favor of the Second Estate, to which Boeselager also belongs.
"Kneeling and hand kiss, moving look, civilian clothes. Farewell! decorations, red jackets and presumptuous photos."
Thus Vatican insider author Salvatore Cernunzio describes the "new humility" of the Order. The delegation, led by Statthalter Dalla Torre, had a total of twelve representatives. The Maltese Vicar presented himself to the Pope in a completely different way from that of the Order, which was "last December an actor behind a turbulent bagarre."
For Vatican Insider, the serious conflict, which has several courtly spies, was only a "tussle". After a "successful" operation, the Vatican apparently wants to go to the agenda.

Order Knights with Cukulle at Church events

All the members of the Sovereign Council, who had entered before Pope Francis, appeared in civilian clothes, "without the picturesque uniforms," Cernunzio said. The Order also expresses its dual character in its clothing: military as a knightly order through the red uniform, ecclesiastically through the black Cukulle. Obviously, the knights who had been "encouraged," says Cernunzio,  left the appropriate uniform for the secular occasions last Friday in the closet because they "do not like the pope".
Even in the past, the Order's representatives had appeared wearing less formal civilian clothes before the pope. In the context of the Pope, however, past weeks were intended to emphasize this aspect and emphasize a contrast to the past.
The meeting lasted almost 25 minutes. All those present left the audience room "visibly moved", according to Cernunzio.
Pope Francis had "encouraged" them with the words:
"I am near to you, I pray for you, continue this way."

Maltese Order and Immigration

The governor assured the Pope that the Order was fully committed to the promotion of "international humanitarian law" and that it was increasingly active in the area of "Migration and Development". As of June 28,  Fra Dalla Torre, will take part in the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Berlin.
In the course of the mass immigration to Europe and to the USA, Pope Francis has supported a "right to migration". In this connection, he had a strong demand for a change of the National Citizenship Act over the leadership of the Italian Bishops' Conference appointed by him. Those who are born in Italy will automatically be citizens of the country, according to the draft of the Italian left-wing government, which is currently being discussed by parliament. However, the latest opinion of the IPSOS Institute revealed that the majority of the Italians reject the Ius soli and demand the maintenance of the jus sanguinis, as the principle of pedigrees. The success of the bourgeois-right opposition in the municipal elections of Sunday confirms this trend.
Pope Francis, on the other hand, encouragted the Bishops' Conference to "cozy up" with the left-wing government, according to personal preferences, as the critics say: the pigments on the new palette ranges from registered partnerships for homosexuals to immigration issues. The Maltese Order seems to be viewed as a building block in the network of the "migration industry".
