Pope's New Ceremoniare is From the Family of Mary

Monsignor Lubomir Welnitz, priest of the Work of Jesus the High Priest (OJSS), is the pope's new ceremoniare.
(RomeLast Sunday, 14 June, the Vatican Press Office announced the appointment of a new papal ceremonial officer. It is the Slovak priest Monsignor Lubomir Welnitz, who has already worked with the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Pope.

Father Welnitz is a member of the Work of Jesus the High Priest (OJSS), which was founded by the Tyrolean priest Paul Maria Sigl and recognized as a priestly association by the Roman Congregation of Clergy in 2008. This association of priests originated from the charity Pro fratribus for the church of the Slovak underground bishop Paul Maria Hnilica (1921-2006), which was persecuted in the Eastern Bloc. Bishop Hnilica was ordained a priest in 1950 because of the Communist persecution of the Church in what was then Czechoslovakia, and in 1951 he was also a bishop.

After the collapse of the  Communist dictatorships, the relief organization was re-established as an international association of the faithful through the cooperation of Bishop Hnilica and P. Sigl under the name Pro Deo et fratribus – Family of Mary and recognized by Rome in 1995. This includes the Order of the Apostolic Sisters of the Family of Mary (FM).

The Association of Priests, the Order of Women and the Lay Community share the Marian, apostolic and missionary charism. The Seminary of the Community is located in Rome, the mother house of the Order of Women in Slovakia. The Community is currently active worldwide in Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Uruguay, Kazakhstan and Russia. In Bohemia, they took over the former Servite monastery of Gratzen (Novy Hrady), where Bishop Hnilica died in 2006, and in the Gratzen Eraland, they look after the Marian Shrine of Mary Trost in Brünnl (Dobri Voda), also known as Maria Brünnl, which was exemplarily renovated by the community.
Under the direction of Monsignor Guido Marini, the Master of Ceremonies of the Pope, Father Welnitz is now active with eight ceremonares: Pier Enrico Stefanetti, Diego Giovanni Ravelli, Marco Agostini, Massimiliano Matteo Boiardi, Vincenzo Peroni, Jon Dubina and Fr. Krzysztof Marcjanowicz.

Monsignor Welnitz, born in 1977, studied at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome, where he received his doctorate in canon law. He then entered the ministry of the Apostolic Penitentiary and was elevated to monsignor under Pope Benedict XVI.

Fr. Welnitz will continue his previous work at the Apostolic Penitentiary as an official and as secretary of Cardinal Grand Penitentiary Mauro Piacenza.

Instead of Guido Marini, Again a New (Old) Master of Ceremonies? -- Piero Marini in Audience with Pope Francis

(Vatican) Will Piero Marini soon be in charge of the Papal liturgies? The Papal Master of Ceremonies Monsignor Guido Marini, put into practice the Liturgical renewal of Pope Benedict XVI., is to be again replaced by Monsignor Piero Marini and thus his predecessor, will again be his successor? These questions were posed today by the church historian and Catholic blogger Francisco Fernandez de la Cigoña. "If that should happen, the pope would clearly express what liturgical taste is. The exact opposite of Benedict XVI." said de la Cigoña.

The Pope has every right to appoint a new master of ceremonies, or to resume the one he has. The Archbishop Piero Marini, the pope was received today by Francis in an audience, “must mean nothing, but it can mean a lot," said de la Cigoña.

Archbishop Piero Marini was master of ceremonies under Pope John Paul II, Benedict XVI. replaced him in 2007 by Monsignor Guido Marini. Despite the similarity of names the two represent entirely different Marinis of liturgical sensibilities. The reigning master of ceremonies Guido Marini comes from the Genoese school of Cardinal Siri.

Should Piero Marini be brought back, "we know exactly what liturgy appeals to the Pope and what does not. Some idea we have already,” said the Spanish church historian.

The official daily newsletter of the Vatican Press Office on 4 April under "Audiences" reported:
The Holy Father Francis has received in audience this morning:

His Eminence Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples

The Pope receives in audience this morning:

His Eminence Cardinal James Michael Harvey, Archpriest of the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls

Liturgical Abuses Encouraged by John Paul II says Former Master of Ceremonies

He Encouraged it Himself

The beatified John Paul II could be named as the patron Saint of liturgical abuses.

(kreuz.net, Vatikan) The beatified John Paul II († 2005) had expressly desired the abuses which were celebrated before him in Pontifical Offices.

This is what the organizer of the abuses and many years Master of Ceremonies, Archbishop Piero Marini (69) wrote in his new book, "IO sono un Papa amabile. Gioanni Paolo II" -- "I am a loveable Pope. John Paul II."

Paolo Rodari reported this on May 7. on his [often excellent] website 'Palazzo Apostolico'

For every trip an actual theater Mass

Rodari reminds of the neo-Conservative theory, where the then Master of Ceremonies, Marini, is supposed to have incited a "spectacle coterminous with the Papal Liturgies" against the will of Pope John Paul II.

This justification is energetically contradicted by Archbishop Marini in his book.

The Conciliar Blessed had encouraged him to insert more cultic heather practices in the Papal Masses -- wrote Msgr Marini.

John Paul II wanted to break through the "rigor" of Papal Masses.

Archbishop Marinini reports that John Paul II wanted a "new Liturgy for every trip".

The Conciliar Blessed is said to have turned to Msgr Marini saying with praise: "beautiful, beautiful."

The Cardinal Found the Legs for Angelic Dancing

Archibishop Marini mentions even a risque moment, which had occurred at a Papal Mass in 1991.

At that time the Archbishop wanted a dance with the Archbishop of San Luis Maranao in North Eastern Brazil, Msgr Paulo Eduardo Andrade Ponte († 2009) during a Papal Mass.

At the announcement of the Gospel two dancers stepped forth, whose robes were blown high by a sudden wind.

After the Mass the Cardinals discussed in the Sacristy if this spectacle was actually necessary.

On that the then president of the Brazilian Bishops Conference, Msgr Luciano Mendez de Almeida († 2006) had answered that he had seen "the angel of the Resurrection" in the two dancers -- so says Msgr Marini.
